What Is Bitch Tap®? EFT Tapping for Anger Release

How I Created Bitch Tap®

I didn't set out to create a technique with "bitch" in the name. But after more than two decades of working with seriously ill clients—people dealing with chronic pain, autoimmune diseases, and emotional trauma—I noticed something.

Traditional EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is incredibly powerful. But for some clients, the standard setup phrases felt... fake.

You know the ones:

"Even though I feel this anger, I deeply and completely love and accept myself."

For some people, that works beautifully. But for others? When they're legitimately furious, terrified, or heartbroken, being asked to say they "deeply love and accept themselves" feels like more emotional bypassing.

They need to say the raw, unfiltered truth first.

So I evolved a method from its precursor, "The Massey Emotional Trigger Point Technique," and called it what it is: Bitch Tap®.

How Bitch Tap® Works

Here's the beautiful simplicity of it:

There's no setup phrase. No reminder phrase. No worries about doing it "right."

All you have to do is:

1. Start tapping on specific acupressure points (the same meridian points used in EFT)

2. Start bitching—and almost everyone knows how to do that.

You tap while you say everything you always wanted to say to that person, that situation, that memory. You give them a damn good "reading." You say it in the most colorful way possible.

And you keep tapping and bitching until that memory collapses completely with no remaining emotional intensity.

Why Cussing Is Required (Yes, Really)

I'm not just being edgy here. There's actual science behind why swearing makes this work better.

Research led by psychologist Dr. Richard Stephens shows that cussing can actually reduce pain and make you feel better. That's because swearing is closely linked to an emotionally aroused state and intense feelings.

Studies suggest the brain processes cuss words in the same regions as emotion and instinct—not in the language centers. Think of cussing as a motor activity with an emotional component.

That's why you remember cuss words about four times better than other words. (Ever notice how the first words people learn in a new language are the cuss words? There's a reason.)

When you combine that emotional intensity with tapping on meridian points, you get a sharper, more focused release. You're not just talking about the anger—you're discharging it from your nervous system.
